Askwith Hand Finished pipes are made using partially shaped stummels and pre-formed stems.
The stummels I have are very old English factory stock and also some newer shapes made in Italy,
they are all good quality, well cured Briar. I take the stummels,
drill their airways and mortices, refine the shapes and fit them with high quality stems of
either ebonite or acrylic.
The stems may have Delrin or turned tenons and will also have their airways opened,
smoothed and shapes refined to provide an excellent smoking experience.
Finishes may be rusticated, sandblasted or occasionally smooth.
The pipes are stamped with my name, my logo and a grade number, 1-3.
Grade 1 will be reserved for smooths and the best sandblasts,
grade 3 will be mostly rusticated or less interesting blasts and
will represent excellent value for money.
